N.S.W. state election 2015 - APTNSW policies

Weekend services

Traffic jams and congestion are no longer the domain of the weekday peak. Studies show that weekend traffic volumes are often matching that which we have come to expect on working days. The state government's response of expanding the network of weekend clearways is one-dimensional and doomed to failure. If you make it easier for cars, you'll only encourage more car travel and worsen the congestion. This problem is only compounded by the lack of public transport options available on weekends. APTNSW believes that improved public transport should play a major role in solving the problem of weekend traffic.

APTNSW calls on NSW election candidates to commit to improved weekend public transport options. This means more frequent services across all modes and extending transit lanes to the weekend on busy corridors.
