Action for Public Transport (N.S.W.) Inc. |
Both the Government and the Opposition quickly announced that they would not seek to fund public transport that way.
Only five days later, the Government announced
that it was conducting a study of a proposed
road tunnel connection between the M4 at Strathfield
and the Inner West Link at Haberfield. This road
could cost about $1 billion. Its advantages were
described as reducing traffic congestion, saving
motorists time.
