Epping Station - design changes

posted Sunday 15 February 2004
The Transport Infrastructure Development Corporation has placed on public exhibition plans for the redesign and relocation of the aerial concourse associated with the expansion of Epping station for the Epping to Chatswood railway.

It is planned to move the aerial concourse to the north. Walking distances to the existing pedestrian bridge over Beecroft Road on the western side of the station will be increased. The redesign will also locate the eastern station entrance in the vicinity of the present bus stop cum bus turning circle. To avoid pedestrian traffic congestion, the bus stop will be moved north, to the eastern side of Cambridge Street, and a new bus turning circle will be built further north again, in Cambridge Street. It is claimed the new design will facilitate passenger movement within the station.

The proposal was advertised in the Sydney press of 7 February 2004. Submissions close with TIDC, Locked bag 5026, Parramatta 2124, on March 1, 2004.
