Transit Mall for Sydney CBD - Comment invited

Public comment has been invited on the plan for Sydney's first Central Business District "Transit Mall". It is proposed that the northern end of George Street, between Alfred Street and Hickson Road, be closed to all traffic except buses, taxis, hire cars, and emergency and council vehicles between 10pm and 4am on Friday and Saturday nights.
The plan is on display at City Council's One Stop Shop, Level 2, 456 Kent St, and at the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority, Level 6, 66 Harrington St. Circular Quay.
Submissions should be lodged with the Chief Executive Officer, City of Sydney, GPO Box 1591, Sydney NSW 2001, by Wednesday 27 July 2005.
