Parramatta - Epping Railway - a low cost version.....

posted Sunday 9 October 2011
On 29 July 2011 APT asked the Minister for Transport to investigate the feasibility of a low-cost version of the proposed Parramatta to Epping railway, using the existing single-track Carlingford line, with short connections at each end to Parramatta and Epping. (About 2km of connecting tunnels at the Epping end must be constructed anyway, concurrent with the construction of the approved North West Rail Link to Rouse Hill.)

The Minister has advised (30.9.11) that the operational and customer service limitations of the single track line would outweigh the benefits.
