Draft Ward St Master Plan

Submission in response

Action for Public Transport (NSW) is a transport advocacy group, which has been active in Sydney since 1974. We promote the interests of beneficiaries of public transport; both passengers, and the wider community. We make the following submission on the draft Plan.

Legibility
It is important that the part of Berry St around its intersection with Ward St is easy to find from Victoria Cross and Mount St. There should be clear sightlines between Berry St and the central part of the North Sydney commercial district. Unfortunately, the connection from Berry St to Berry Square is not straight. It passes through a lift lobby, then a staircase or ramp, and only then opens into the shopping area.
We therefore suggest that Council ensure clean sightlines through the Metro station and anywhere else there is an opportunity to emphasise the closeness of Ward St to Mount St.
